2023 Bathroom Trends That Will Transform Your Space

From bold colour palettes to luxe fixtures and fittings and smarter technology, bathrooms are becoming a reflection of our lifestyles and personalities. As we move into 2023, the trend is no different; we're seeing more innovative technologies, and eco-friendly materials that can help you turn your bathroom into a personal sanctuary. Let's take a look at what some of the most popular bathroom trends will be for this coming year and beyond.

Bold colour palettes

Bold colour palettes are becoming increasingly popular. Not only do they add vibrancy and energy to the space, they also help create a more inviting atmosphere. When incorporating bold colours into your design, it’s important to create a cohesive palette that will tie the entire space together.

DESIGN TIP: From concrete coloured basins and baths to the now vast array of finishes in tap ware you need to ensure your bold selections are balanced with your tile and vanity selections. And the bathroom itself should reflect elements from the rest of your homes interiors or vice versa in order for the home to feel cohesive.

New finishes

An emerging trend that we are absolutely loving is the use of waterproof plaster finishes for bathroom floors and walls. It's a finish that has been around for centuries that has made a resurgence. The surface is hardwearing, comes in a huge range of colours AND the best part ...there is no grout to clean!! It's on my list of must haves when we renovate later this year and you will see it in a few of our upcoming projects.

Eco-friendly materials

In keeping up with trend of sustainability, there are many eco-friendly materials that can be used in bathrooms. Integrating natural elements such as bamboo, cork, reclaimed timber or Terrazzo flooring made with recycled materials such as glass, granite, and marble tick the box when it comes to sustainability.

Other eco-friendly materials and fittings include low-flow shower-heads and tap ware, as well as water-saving toilets. In most council localities these are required as a pre-requisite in new builds and larger home renovations in order for the council to approve your Designers plans. And don't forget your low-VOC paints and LED light fittings should form part of your sustainable selections.

Luxe fixtures and fittings

Detailed fixtures and fittings are making a comeback in bathrooms. From sleek and stylish sinks to luxurious freestanding tubs and showers, these details can help create an elegant and sophisticated look for your bathroom. For a truly unique design experience, consider investing in luxury fixtures such as marble look stone bench tops, marble tiles, custom cabinetry, and customised shower heads...all in the name of giving your bathroom that 'day spa' feel.

Smart technology

Technology is becoming more commonplace in our homes, and bathrooms are no exception. One of the most exciting new technologies that can help make your bathroom smarter and more efficient are automated systems. These systems can be programmed to do a wide range of tasks, from turning on lights and music at a preset time to ensuring that the temperature in the room is consistent throughout the day. In addition, these systems can also be used to monitor water usage and set reminders to alert you when there are leaks or other problems with your plumbing system.

Finally...Create a personal sanctuary

The finishing touches are what can really make your bathroom feel like a personal sanctuary. If you have the space start by adding unique accessories such as rugs, towels, plants and artwork that reflect your style and personality.
